We greatly appreciate the valuable feedback we received this year from our Benefits Preference Survey, which has helped us gain insight into what truly matters to you. Your priorities are our priorities. Your feedback continues to build our road map forward and drives enhancements to our benefits to help us better meet your needs. This is what you need to know headed into the new year:
Medical |
This year, with the introduction of Express Scripts for pharmacy coverage, you’ll be getting a new Anthem/Express Scripts ID card.
Beginning January 1, 2024:
- Use your new combined Anthem/Express Scripts ID card. You will have a new group number on the card. Ensure that your medical providers update their systems.
Pharmacy |
Prescription drug coverage is now a separate benefit (no longer combined with medical) offered through Express Scripts. As a leading pharmacy provider, Express Scripts offers you a larger network and more support for complex pharmacy needs. Bonus: Express Scripts works in conjunction with GoodRx to ensure you get the best price—always.
Beginning January 1, 2024:
- Review the formulary and your prescriptions and follow any steps Express Scripts communicates to you to transition care.
- For any excluded medications, you will get two courtesy prescription fills with no change to your existing formulary. For the third fill or by April 1, you will need to make the change to a covered alternative or obtain a prior authorization from your doctor.
- Check if your pharmacy is in-network and tell your providers about the change.
- Use your new combined Anthem/Express Scripts ID card.
Family-Building Benefits |
We’ve partnered with Carrot to provide greater support for fertility needs and diverse family-building paths. This holistic benefit—available for those covered by our medical plans—includes services like IVF, adoption, medically-required fertility preservation and additional education.
Beginning January 1, 2024:
- If you are engaged in fertility care with Anthem, Carrot will transition care using your current provider(s).
- If you plan to engage in any fertility care in 2024, contact Carrot (not Anthem) first to access fertility benefits.
- Be aware that your lifetime maximum will continue from 2021 when the benefit was implemented.
Vision |
We’ve enriched our vision plan with the addition of Eye360, which provides additional benefits when you visit a PLUS Provider, including:
- $0 copay eye exams and additional $50 frame allowance
- A streamlined experience—no coupons, no promo codes
- Eligible for new lenses, contacts and frames every 12 months
Many of you are already using an Eye360 PLUS Provider and will automatically benefit from this change.
Beginning January 1, 2024:
- Check to see if your provider is an Eye360 PLUS Provider. If not, consider changing providers for the added benefits.
- Use your annual benefit for new lenses, contacts, and frames and all of the special offers available through EyeMed to stack your benefits.
Dental |
We’ve partnered with Delta Dental, the market leader in dental coverage, to provide you with a larger network of participating providers, lowering out-of-pocket costs for you.
Beginning January 1, 2024:
- Check if your dentist is in network by visiting deltadentaloh.com > “Find a Dentist” tab.
- Communicate the insurance change to your dentist.
- Use your new ID card, which you will receive in the mail.
- Make sure you have your dental provider submit claims to Delta Dental of Ohio (even if you are located in another state).
- If you are in the middle of an approved treatment plan, have your provider resubmit the treatment plan through Delta Dental.
Well-Being |
Wellness was the top interest on the Benefits Preference Survey, so we’ve added Wellbeats Wellness, an on-demand wellness platform, to support your health and wellness. Wellbeats offers fitness, nutrition and mindfulness classes that you can access from wherever you’re comfortable. This is a free benefit, available to all employees.
Beginning January 8, 2024:
- Access the app and use the fitness and nutrition classes/programs to support healthy habits! You’ll receive more information about how to access it shortly.
- Check back routinely for new classes throughout the year.
Life Insurance, AD&D and Disability |
We transitioned group life insurance and disability to Lincoln Financial for 2024 because we believe they will provide a more positive employee experience.
Beginning January 1, 2024:
- Contact Lincoln Financial if you have a life or long-term disability claim during the year.
